The Nuclear Method

Because I keep hearing “I didn’t know you posted that on your site…” here’s a New Year’s present: Here’s my version of the ‘nuclear method’ for authors, aka How To Nuke A Document Without Losing Italics (or other special fonts). Okay, to be more accurate, italics and other special fonts do get blasted with the rest of the potential bugaboos. But this tutorial shows you how to prepare special fonts for the blast and restore them in a few simple steps afterward. Have faith. We’ll get through this, I promise. PART I: Intro WHY BOTHER WITH THIS? If you look really close at the image below, you’ll see why. Don’t… Read More

So Excite

It might be moving day. Moving into the new office, that is. Picture me standing here, doing the pee-pee dance of shameless excitement. This is good news; once I’m settled again, things can get back to some semblance of normal, as far as the writing goes. In other news, send good thoughts Mr. Silver’s way. New Ebooks Available

I probably should have mentioned these in the last post, but I’m in a rush, sorry. To create sample files for the formatting gig, I used some of my favorite books. These are available in a lot of places for free, but they’re never formatted like a normal person would do it. And We’re Back

The Drive-by Monday post: Home again! Mom’s surgery went well. The recovery’s been dodgy so far, but it’s early, yet. Thanks to everyone for your good thoughts and kind words. When I got home Saturday, our Internet provider decided to have a huge, unprecedented DNS problem. All those emails I wanted to respond to? Yeah, didn’t happen, and I’m still trying to catch up. I apologize for the delay. I’ll try (aaaaaaahahahahahaha) to get caught up after I’ve hit my Hellfire target for the day. Wishing you minions and awesome coffee…

The Eightman Cometh… Soon

Emma very kindly added Eightman to Goodreads for us, so you can head on over there and click “Want To Read” if you’re so inclined. I’m not sure on exact release date, as yet. That date depends on beta-read and proofer results (plus my mom’s surgery. How much do we wish someone else could do these revisions?) Expect it within the next 10 days, at least. That’s the news for today. Have a great one!
