[Brain-storming session; three people in conference call. It has just been discovered that no one, not even the lead character, has a surname on record.] EDITOR: So what about Derek? MEG: Smalls. EDITOR: What? Why? MEG: I don’t know. It just popped in there. [In the background, critique partner bursts out laughing, expelling air at an alarming rate, until left breathless and wheezing.] MEG: What? What’s funny? CRITIQUE PARTNER: (gasping) Google. Google Derek Smalls, once. [Conference call is interrupted by soft staccato of resentful typing, followed by pause for search results. All groan.]

This Week

Most people around the world know that this week is a big holiday week here in the States — lots of family gatherings and overeating and American football and that sort of thing. As a result, Twitter, the blog and Facebook might fall even more quiet than usual; if I have to decide between writing and playing online, writing will always win out. So rest assured that even if my media goes quiet for a bit, things are still cranking behind the scenes. Back to normal by Monday, I hope.

Updates

THE NEW GIRL has been pulled from Amazon’s Kindle Bookstore for the time being. It will reappear once Smashwords and Kindle integrate, along with the rest of the Fantasy Heights series. Meanwhile, changes are underway on ALL OF HER (book 4) to smooth the path for books five and six. Cracking a finished segment can be tricky, but who could complain about losing exposition in favor of fantasy sex?
