Zooooom

Okay, so the good news: I have 49 whole minutes remaining in the office today. The bad news: I think I had a TOTAL of 49 minutes to work on writing-related things last week. I promise things will slow down after this week, and that we’ll make progress. I’m sorry Pressure is taking so long. This single-parent-but-not-single-just-husband-is-on-the-road-like-ALL-the-time thing truly sucks. Sexy man minions. I need sexy man minions… Manions?

Oh Come On, Minnesota

So it’s decided to be winter again here in Minnesota. I’m sure you can picture the look on my face now that we’ve got snow in the forecast tonight. The vacation itself felt great — lots of cleaning, laundry, and otherwise sleeping my face off — but now that I’m back I feel like I’ve entered an office abandoned over a thousand years ago. This morning I’m gathering clues trying to figure out what went on in this place, and what this office’s mysterious owner was trying to accomplish. And then I remember the… Read More

PSA

I haven’t done this in a while. Maybe never under this pen name, but I think it’s worthwhile to post a reminder now and again. HOW TRADITIONAL PUBLISHING REALLY WORKS Legitimate publishing houses NEVER CHARGE YOU MONEY. If a publishing house has expressed interest in your work but wants to charge you OUT-OF-POCKET for editing, cover art, distribution, placement or anything else, it’s a scam. (The only possible exception to this is a contractual thing where an author might be charged by a legitimate house for making excessive changes at the galley stage. These charges and terms will be clearly stated in the contract; such clauses exist to save certain… Read More
