Things I Need Today: Way more coffee. Way fewer kittens wrestling on top of my chair-back. An electrified doorknob on this office. Louder music. For instance… This: And way more of this:

So. This is happening: Good thing I’m up to my eyebrows with Hellfire today. Looks like I won’t be going anywhere. Have a great Monday!

I don’t do this often, but I have to share a recommendation. This book was the most fun I’ve had reading in a long time: The Martian by Andy Weir Yes, it’s sci-fi. Honestly, I don’t think it matters which genre(s) you prefer, this book is so personable and entertaining, pretty much anyone would enjoy it. What an awesome read. Thank you, Andy.

November 2014 Giveaway
Morning, everybody! I’ve partially moved into the new office; I’ll take pics as soon as I’ve figured out where the mountains of stuff will go — naturally I have more stuff than office to put it all in, but still, it’s awesome up here. I stood at the window, watching it snow (#primalscreen) for about ten minutes, earlier. The view took a bit of the sting out of it, I tell you. Anyway, I’m here to formally pimp November’s giveaway — Same prize as last month: the season pass. Speaking of which, I best get my butt to work. Have a great Wednesday!

It might be moving day. Moving into the new office, that is. Picture me standing here, doing the pee-pee dance of shameless excitement. This is good news; once I’m settled again, things can get back to some semblance of normal, as far as the writing goes. In other news, send good thoughts Mr. Silver’s way. He has an interview tomorrow for a job he’s actually interested in. I’m crossing everything. Except maybe my eyes. I kinda need those. Have a great Monday!

Hi, everybody! The family finally let me slow down long enough to wrap up this month’s giveaway. *drumroll* October’s Season Pass winner was… Kim Bryson! Kim will receive each Fantasy Heights Season Two episode as they’re released. If you’d like another crack at a season pass, we’ve decided to do the same giveaway next month (all my creative braincells were used up today, trying to figure out how to keep four energetic piranh… er, kittens, out of the basement). Enter next month’s giveaway on the Giveaway page. ETA: Ooops, I was a bit hasty with that publish button! I just wanted to say thanks to everyone who entered October’s giveaway.… Read More
Continue ReadingNew Ebooks Available
I probably should have mentioned these in the last post, but I’m in a rush, sorry. To create sample files for the formatting gig, I used some of my favorite books. These are available in a lot of places for free, but they’re never formatted like a normal person would do it. (No offence, but who likes reading fiction with huge gaps between the paragraphs, and no indents? Honestly.) The EPUB and MOBI versions are available on megsilver.com for free download: [wpdm_file id=28] [wpdm_file id=29] Pride And Prejudice [wpdm_file id=31] [wpdm_file id=30] Other titles I plan to make available include: The first five (public domain) volumes of Edgar Rice Burrough’s… Read More

New Stuff
Another tutorial went up this morning! How To Nuke A Document Without Losing Italics This one used to be on Smashwords under my editing name, but since I can’t be arsed to promote it, I figured what the heck — it’s posted here now, for free. It still needs prettying up, but the process works all the same. Visit the tutorials page. Also, I’ll point out the DIY section on the site’s Contact page. This page contains links to all sorts of things, like the review request form, the beta-team signup form, &c. Oh! If you haven’t already, today’s the last day to sign up for October’s giveaway! Don’t miss… Read More
Continue ReadingMonday Bloody Monday
Not much to report, here. Toiling on many projects, trying to help get the new office finished, trying to avoid stealth cat attacks… Have I mentioned that my daughter changed Scaramouche’s nickname from Moose to Moose-ifer? It fits. Office: Catpile: No, that’s not the mama cat lounging in the foreground. That would be Mandango, who is more than half the size of his mother at five weeks. Behold this rare, peaceful moment.
