The Kindle bundle (ASIN: B006L8KDWU) will be unavailable for about 24 hours due to navigational controls update. It’ll be available again with a working TOC and location markers as soon as Amazon finishes processing. We’re sorry for any inconvenience.

Sometimes, I really, really don’t like my editor. For instance this morning, when she sent a link to the following video, which led to aching stomach and face muscles, spilled coffee and various other forms of bedlam. Absolutely hilarious. Someone stop me before I start clicking on these guys’ other links.

One To Watch‘s description finalized this morning: Tensions are building, and not just on set. More and more secrets reach critical mass while Amanda emerges as a rising star at Fantasy Heights.

It was way too quiet in this office this morning until… So THERE, Wednesday.

Over the coming months, I’ll be updating previous episode files to: 1) Improve performance — formatting for working TOC and locations, start position, better sampling, etc. 2) Clean up some minor typos — Hello, forest. Oh, hey! Look! Trees! — This will learn us to rush the production cycle as ruthlessly as we have in the past. 3) Possibly — though the final decision won’t happen for a bit — update cover art. Anyway, point is, if you receive alerts from retailers that new files are available, this is why. No scheduled dates on these: I’m dragging my feet a little so that we only have to update once, and this… Read More

Quickie post, today. I will likely have much to report on Monday but for today, all I’ve got is the final treatment for One To Watch‘s cover. Have a great weekend.

The designer did read comments on the last cover post (Thank you Chris, Lilio and Melonhead). I have one reservation left regarding overall theme, but if I get over myself or we find a compromise, I’ll post a final soon. Have a good day. I’m off to make my D’s 3.

Memorial Day posts are hard. Almost everything one can say feels trite, contrived, inadequate or some combination thereof. And it’s too easy, I think, to confuse politics with individual sacrifices, even when we ought to set one aside to honor the other. Thank you, veterans. You have the thanks of grateful nations (and writers) everywhere.

So. After three meetings and six weeks of pondering, Book 5’s title popped into my head while I was reaching into the refrigerator for yogurt. Two phone calls later, it was finalized, and a very relieved graphic designer was able to send me more drafts. Draft 7: draft 7 Draft 8: draft 8 Draft 9: draft 9 I would have been happy with any of them, but I think she sent the files in this order to torture me. I really, really liked draft 7, was a bit “meh” about draft 8, and then came draft 9 that absolutely wowed me. Anyone have any thoughts or preferences? Do weigh in… Read More

Blame the horsecart full of allergy meds I just took… Nothing like a little ‘tude first thing in the morning. Now I must go gird… stuff for the editorial meeting wherein we discuss the fallout from turning in 32k-words of copy for an episode that can only be half that. (I know, right? My editor totally needs moral support today.)
