Morning, everybody. Book 8’s release date will be February 2013. This gives us extra time to clean up from its major overhaul. I’m actually still patching a couple spots, and because both Emma and I have been over (and over) this episode so many times, we need to let it rest a bit. Sort of like a roast. Only without the fat. And way more sex. Also, Joy’s sense of humor has once again reared its passive-aggressive head: I still love her despite such provocation. Remember this one?

To prevent any undue celebration or panic, this post is notification that we have just pushed a “canary” file update to Amazon. We used the bundled Help Wanted and The New Girl version. Please do not mistake this cover/file upgrade for an early release of Book 6. This is not the new episode. This is a Kindle-only bundle of books one and two. As seen above, the file is sporting a new cover. The updates also introduce working navigational controls, and the typo cleanups. So I think we finalized cover art this morning. (That sound you heard was a jawbone bouncing off my desktop when I saw draft12 in das Photobucket.) The designer did read comments on the last cover post (Thank you Chris, Lilio and Melonhead). I have one reservation left regarding overall theme, but if I get over myself or we find a compromise, I’ll post a final soon. Have a good day. I’m off to make my D’s 3.

So. After three meetings and six weeks of pondering, Book 5’s title popped into my head while I was reaching into the refrigerator for yogurt. Two phone calls later, it was finalized, and a very relieved graphic designer was able to send me more drafts. Draft 7: draft 7 Draft 8: draft 8 Draft 9: draft 9 I would have been happy with any of them, but I think she sent the files in this order to torture me. I really, really liked draft 7, was a bit “meh” about draft 8, and then came draft 9 that absolutely wowed me. Anyone have any thoughts or preferences? Do weigh in… Read More
