Dear Sci-Fi Writers

While I was having my nails done, I gave the Hollywood treatment to several popular hypotheses: 1) The universe is expanding.2) Galaxies live on something like a big balloon with a great big void in the middle.3) It was recently hypothesized that the great big void is filled with black holes. Okay, so: Nothing can escape the hyper-gravity of a black hole. Except, apparently, galaxies living on an ever-expanding balloon that just happens to be filled with black holes. If our universe was not expanding, we would fall into the black holes and cease to exist. Hypothesis: Our galaxy is the subject of one of the most enormous rescue attempts… Read More

It’s Monday. I like to post on Mondays. I usually have something to say on Mondays. News or updates or something. …*crickets chirping*……*nails tapping on desk*……*head back against chair, twisting side to side, whistling*… Yeah. I got nothing, and it’s time to get to work, so have a great Monday.

Warning: Potential Spoiler

I posted a poll on the forums this morning. Please go vote if you’ve got a minute, though be warned: if you’ve not read book six yet this has possible spoiler potential. (And I swear there will be no ads either positive or negative from candidates. No phone calls, no flyers, no baby kissing, no media, though I make no promises about scandals.)

Updates

Morning, everybody. Fair warning that it’s going to stay rather quiet around here. I’m anxious to finish the final three Fantasy Heights books, and that means applying nose to grindstone like never before. After our editorial meeting yesterday where we assessed how far we’ve come, content-wise, and how far we have yet to go, I can tell you one thing for certain: books seven, eight and nine are going to be looooooooooooooooong. Have a great week. If anything interesting happens, I’ll keep you posted, and I’ll keep an eye on the forums as best I can.

Release Week

Expect another quiet week leading up to Book 6’s release; there remains a ton of stuff to be done. Those of you on the mailing list can expect some excerpt linkage very soon. Everyone else will have to wait a bit longer. I’m off to grab some (more) coffee and slay the to-do list. Have a great one, or at least make it look as if you are.

Because Coffee

We started all the file and cover updates this morning. Please don’t worry if the covers you see on this site don’t match covers on sites such as Amazon, Sony, Apple, Kobo and Barnes & Noble; it will take time for updates to filter through to all retailers. Kindle titles will periodically disappear throughout the day. We apologize for any inconvenience and promise to stay on top of things to minimize any delays. Thank you for your patience.

Canary

To prevent any undue celebration or panic, this post is notification that we have just pushed a “canary” file update to Amazon. We used the bundled Help Wanted and The New Girl version. Please do not mistake this cover/file upgrade for an early release of Book 6. This is not the new episode. This is a Kindle-only bundle of books one and two. As seen above, the file is sporting a new cover. The updates also introduce working navigational controls, and the typo cleanups. For those readers who purchased the Kindle bundle, Amazon might notify you of an available file update. I doubt it, though; on the surface, the changes made were very… Read More
