Today, I’m working on book 5, and feeling petulant because I have to cut word-count pretty substantially, and some of my favorite bits have to go. Here’s one. *sigh* —— “She’s got her own observer, right?” Thomas asked. [Undisclosed character] spoke up. “Yup.” “Josh?” “Nope. He’s in Virginia or something.” “I wonder what they’ll call it once he leaves.”—–

I’m starting to get a lot of questions in the inbox. I’m happy to answer all emails, but this will be a really busy week behind the scenes, so I figured I’d save people the hassle of waiting for response… Q. When is book 5 coming out? A. It’s scheduled for July. Right now, I can’t be any more specific on an actual date because it all depends on how quickly we can finalize editing, art and other packaging issues. Q. On the Fantasy Heights page, it says Book 5’s title and cover aren’t finalized. What does that mean? A. It means the title and art will change before release. Though we… Read More

I’m in that weird writer-state today where I’ve got one foot in story world, and less than half a grip on reality, but I wanted to take a moment today to say thank you to all the readers who have taken time out of their busy lives to post reviews for Fantasy Heights episodes. Good or bad, doesn’t matter; what matters is that you didn’t have to, but you did it anyway, and I really do appreciate it. So thank you, and have a great weekend. Retreating back into story world on this end.

Computer upgrades underway! (yes!) Slowest. Backup. Download. Speed. Ever. (Noooooooooo!) Anyway, please bear with my slow responses while we rebuild homebase with the new hardware. We won’t even talk about the Microsoft Office debates going on right now… Thanks for your patience.

Mobile users are having a hard time signing up for the newsletter. Here’s one option: Enter your email address powered by TinyLetter Another temporary option is to send an email to admin@megsilver.com with “updates” in the subject line and “add this address” in the body. Better, more permanent options coming soon. (Remember when I said mobile-friendly excerpts were coming soon, too? We still haven’t figured out how to make those not suck.)

That was what I found when I checked stats for The New Girl earlier this morning. Have I mentioned lately how much readers rule? Thank you so much.

If you’ve hung around here at all, you know that I consider this one of the greatest tunes of all time. What you don’t know is that I sing this to the cats, and when I do, one of them meows back. Really loud. And then tries to crawl into my mouth. Certain others around here believe this is the cat’s way of telling me to shut up. I prefer to believe it’s Cat for “You rock.”

I checked into the Sony delay, found the problem (or at least we think so) and All of Her should show up in the Sony bookstore soon, if it hasn’t already. My apologies for the delay and inconvenience.

So, I just got out of an important meeting. Important things were decided. Like which wall to make the cats chase the laser point up next. This afternoon, I have another important meeting planned. With the mop. Dear God, the new computer can’t get here fast enough.

One desktop computer: officially kaput.I wish that I had actually killed it with fire; spontaneous hard-drive death has no cachet whatsoever. Meanwhile, I do have a backup, of course, but the writing is never the same away from that home-base desktop. So work on the new stuff will take a hit for the next little while, until I find a replacement worth buying. (I seem to have a singular knack for killing computers just shy of a new generation of processors, when everyone’s pushing the old junk they couldn’t sell before. i3 for the same price as latest generation? Are you SERIOUS? Byotch, please.) Anyway, if things get quiet on the… Read More
