New Contest

In an effort to out-dork myself, I bring you Meg Silver’s May The Fourth Celebration! To enter, please fill out this form. It’s short and to the point, and you’ll notice there’s an array of prizes this time. We tried to include some different stuff for those readers who have all the books already. Sally-Field Day

So today is the annual hat-in-hand day when I ask (beg) everyone who’s read a Meg Silver title to please review that title on the retailer of your choice. It seems like such a small thing, but the number of reviews makes a difference in visibility, so every single review counts (and is much appreciated). No, it doesn’t have to be a five-star review. Be honest. Feedback is hoarded like gold ’round here. And yes, everyone keeps telling me I need a street team. I will likely get one soon as someone explains what that is…

Snowy Enough For You

Another Monday, another snow storm. Could someone please force-feed Mother Nature her meds? Or maybe just… force-choke her? I kid, I kid. Anyway, due to President’s Day, I’ve got kids home from school, so I’m a bit scattered. Tomorrow, though, I’m going to launch something that — quite ironically — got sidelined last July when I found out Mr. Silver would have to move to Milwaukee. Maybe it’ll amount to something, maybe it won’t, but I want to give it a whirl anyhow. More on that tomorrow. Off to write until teenagers take over the asylum.

The Nights Of Yes

EDIT TO ADD Okay, so if you ever want to watch an author go into a cold panic, call them at 11:12 PM and ask, “Um… Which version of the production file did you convert? I just downloaded off Amazon, and there’s mistakes in there from two rounds ago.” Yeah. I converted and uploaded the wrong version the first time. That rhythmic thumping sound you heard was my skull against the wall. Anyway, the CORRECT version has been converted and uploaded everywhere but Barnes & Noble. I’ll fix that as soon as it’s done processing. (Done!) If you’ve already purchased and downloaded, please grab the update with my sincere apologies… Read More

Book Of Secrets

Update time. We’ve got two stories grinding their way gracelessly through the system. I haven’t yet got release dates. There’s suckage (not the fun kind) issues with one, continuity issues plus cover-art drama with the other. I do like to keep things simple. #side-eye As for Fantasy Heights Season Two, I’m taking some time to let the latter half of the season crystallize some more. We are currently fighting about how much POV-time Josh should get, and how weird it’s gonna be to split episodes between two POV characters whose story lines are so vastly different. (This is why we can’t have nice things.) Anyway. Coffee time! Have a great… Read More

Okay, One More

Since it’s Friday and need a major escape from serious, I have to add this one. I don’t even know how to explain my love for this vlogger. Best I can manage is if Carol Burnett, Billie Piper and Cher Horowitz (from Clueless) had a love child, it would be this girl. I can’t believe out of all her many videos, this is the one I’m sharing. But since my stomach still aches from laughing at this last night, it’s going in with the other favorites. I defy you not to laugh at this.

Unusually Usual

So Emma asked yesterday what it’s like living apart from Mr. Silver after nineteen years of marriage. I wanted to scream IT SUCKS AND I HATE IT. But because I’m from Minnesota, I calmly said, “There are good days and bad days.” This weekend we definitely had “good days”. Mr. Silver was home for a visit, so things are a little brighter. Except he asked child #2 to mow the yard. Child did so while the dog was outside, and now the dog — who is the world’s most neurotic pointer — will no longer walk on the grass. This is making life interesting, as I’m sure you can imagine.… Read More

Yes!

Only fifteen days until school starts! /cabbagepatch (don’t judge) I’m writing today. Naughty stuff. Let’s hope that when Emma gets here later to give me dirty looks over my recent slowness that she can be bought off with chocolate and Mike’s blood-orange lemonade.
